new musics night at Holocene
I'm happy to be a part of the inaugural night of a new quarterly series at Holocene: New Musics. The idea is that local composers and musicians write for traditional music ensembles. Tomorrow night the ensemble is Classical Revolution PDX, and they'll be performing a new piece of mine I'm calling "No Condition is Permament" for string quartet, horn, and bass clarinet. There are several other exciting composers such as Daniel Menche, Tom Thorson, and Copy premiering new pieces, and the ensemble will also perform Philip Glass' String Quartet No 5.

I also just became aware of this link where you can listen to a selection of performances from the On Land festival, and the first one is Golden Retriever!
